| SUNDAY IN THE PARK 2004 Aug 1st 2004 On August 1st 2004, Planet Sound Community Arts provided a second stage and alternative space at the Sunday in the Park event. Having been involved in a variety of roles in previous years, Planet Sound Community Arts set out with the aim of hosting a second stage, adding to the acts and ethos of the event and also bringing new people to the festival who had not attended before. On the mainstage throughout the day were the Planet Sound Drumschool, the Trent Vale Poet, Jug O Punch, Revolition, Sarah Miller & Mr.Will, Centrifuge, Torben & Joe (featuring Bobby Sox, Sarah Miller, Felix Gibbons and Lawrence Shipstone.) The main organsation on the day was provided by the 2004 Access All Areas team and was part funded by Awards for All and Stoke City Council. Workshops were provided throughout the day from Community Conservation who conducted charcoal based workshops, circus skills workshops were provided by Akimbo Arts, and a Samba workshop which ended with participants parading around the park was provided by Planet Sound Community Arts. "Delicious food with a Mexican twist!" was provided by the Planet Sound Community Cafe in the main Marquee that also featured displays and information from community groups in the area, plus a seated "chill out" space. Planet Sound Community Arts would like to thank 7C's for making us part of the already successful festival, to all the acts that played and workshopped, but especially to all the people who gave their time and energy to make the event a great success. Without this effort and commitment, the event would not have been possible, so a big thank you goes out to you all once more. You can view a gallery of images from the day by clicking here.
