The Autumn 08 term will start on Sunday 31st Aug 2008 and will be held at the Planet Sound workshop room at Cartwright House, Mitchell Memorial Theatre, Hanley.
Run by Ade Waters from Planet Sound, the open djembe workshops will run from 3.30 - 5pm and we welcome all ages and levels of playing experience.

Drumschool intermediate level will make a return after a summer break on Sun Sept 14th. Sessions will be run by Mr.Will, in addition to self directed study. The group will work towards an original piece for the Spectrums of Sound 2008, along with traditional West African rhythms as part of the syllabus.

Other news On 27th July 08, the Planet Sound Drumschool open level recorded the piece "KUKU" complete with djembe breaks and dundun accompanyments Led by Planet Sound's Ade Waters the term has been a great success with many new participants!
Members of the Planet Sound Drumschool also attended Drumcamp in Bungay from 11th-13th July to take part in workshops and masterclasses delivered throughout the 3 day festival.
On March 13th 2008, the Planet Sound Drumschool concluded a successful winter term, with a celebration showcase at the Full Moon, Newcastle Under Lyme.

The Planet Sound Drumschool provided the core of the bateria for the 2007 City Centre Carnival. The Drumschool recieved tuition by top international sambista Bosco de Olivera over an 8 week period in preperation for what turned out to be the best City Centre Carnival yet!For the full report, gallery and soundclips, click here!
On Sat the 18th Aug 2007, the St.Lukes drumming group "Kasanti" joined members of the Planet Sound Drumschool to provide pre-match entertainment at the Britannia Stadium for the Stoke City fans.

On Wed 21st March 2007, the first ever Planet Sound Drumschool showcase took place at the Full Moon music venue, Newcastle Under Lyme.
The event festured five different groups, each playing several songs for the biggest audience the Full Moon has seen.
Over 60 people performed as part of the show, coming from all over the North Staffs area. For the full report, click here.
