![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Photos by Mr.Will of Planet Sound Community Arts and Alan Taylor of Planet Vision Photography ARCHIVE | CHINA UPDATE - APRIL 2005 The auditions on Dec 14th 2004 were so well attended, CHINA had to hold a second round of auditions on March 9th 2005. The next performance will have a cast of 40 participants. During 2005, CHINA has developed a strong collaboration with Shelton Day Centre, which is providing a base for the Theatre Company for the next performance piece. CHINA would like to especially thank Chris Moreton and Mark Connolly for their support in developing this collaboration. The next performance called ‘Princess in Boots - a tale of power & prejudice’ will be performed on June 29th & 30th at Shelton Day Centre. The piece, which will be presented as a bedtime story, is a fairy tale with a twist featuring live music, dance, drama and visual art. Audiences will be requested to attend the performances in pyjamas or a dressing gown. The CHINA team for ‘Princess in Boots’ will be Amy Parry (dance), Liz Mitchell (drama), Joe Wilson (music), Lynn Webberley-Harrop (visual arts) and Jeannette Sword (liaison & pastoral care), with Dominic Boyson, Caroline Rothwell and Mark Connolly supporting the groups. CHINA has secured funding for this 6-month developmental phase from CHOICES housing association, Stoke-on-Trent Community Chest, Allen House and Neighbourhood Learning in Deprived Communities.
