KASANTI AND PLANET SOUND DRUMSCHOOL
BRITANNIA STADIUM, AUG 18th 2007

On Sat the 18th Aug 2007, the St.Lukes drumming group "Kasanti" joined members of the Planet Sound Drumschool to provide pre-match entertainment at the Britannia Stadium for the Stoke City fans.

The entertainment featured as part of Stoke City's first home game of the new football season, and a packed stadium enjoyed the performances by the djembe group!
The group started performances in the family area of the stadium, playing a mixture of peices in the Kasanti and Drumschool repetoire, and were joined by the two "Pottermus" mascots to entertain the fans as they came into the arena.

The group then moved to the other side of the stadium, with mascots in tow to welcome the home fans entering the stadium, then finished with a performance at pitch side for the home fans.

The crowd were given rhythms to play along to the drumming at various stages in the performance, and the football match, together with some of the drumming performance was featured live on SKY tv!

The whole performance lasted for over an hour non stop and was well recieved by Stoke City FC and the fans.
The group were then given free tickets to the Stoke City game, which Stoke went on to win.
Well done to everyone who performed so well throughout the day!
A big thanks to Stoke City FC for giving us the chance to perform and for looking after us the whole time.
Big thanks especially to the very talented Pottermus who can not only drum but has some nifty dance moves too!

The Planet Sound Drumschool and Kasanti are due to restart in mid September to work towards the Mitchell Celebration event in last October and the Spectrums of Sound showcase at Victoria Hall on 26th November!
