Arch Day Centre project update - November 2003
Planet Sound Community Arts have been working on the current phase of the Arch project since September 2003.
Five participants have been regularly attending the thursday afternoon sessions and have been working towards the long term aim of developing a band capable of performing live.

On Thursday 6th November, this aim was realised when the band performed at Churrasco's in Hanley. For some, this was the first performance they had done in many years.
The performance was a great success: both the band and the 30 people in the audience were extremely satisfied with the performance, which included an impromtu, unrehearsed song played without any support from the PSCA team.

The band is made up of drums, keyboards, percussion and harmonica, three songs have been rehearsed to perform live. All participants share lead and backing vocal duties as part of the set.
Workshops have focused on rehearsing a mixture of cover versions and original songs, while developing instrumental and group music skills. Future work will expand and develop the live set, recruit some more band members and produce a CD. The band will also be performing at the Planet Sound Community Arts showcase on the 24th January.

The current phase of the project has been funded by the Arch Day Centre and the W.E. Dun Trust. Si Waite and Paul Rogerson have also given their time on a voluntary basis in order that the project can continue each week. The project is currently seeking longer-term funding in collaboration with Arch North Staffs.
