CARNIVAL FIRST HAND - Feb 2004
From Feb 9th - 29th 2004, three members of Planet Sound Community Arts visited Sao Paulo, Brazil with the aim of developing the skills and understanding of Brazillian percussion, dance and costume and to bring these skills back to the area to benefit the summer festivals programme of Planet Sound Community Arts

BLURTON CARNIVAL 2003
Blurton, 9th Aug 2003

On Sat 9th August 2003, Blurton had its first experience of samba courtesy of Planet Sound Community Arts. In collaboration with Beavers Arts, preperations for the carnival started on 1st July 2003, with Planet Sound Community Arts running a week of taster workshops from in several youth and community centres in the Blurton area.

SANITY FAIR 2003
Piccadilly, Hanley, 7th June 2003

On 7th June 2003, Planet Sound Community Arts were involved in the third annual Sanity Fair street festival. Organised by James McAteer of the Media Group For Mental Health, the event took place in Piccadilly, Hanley and a programme of events had been organised to promote positive perceptions and awareness of mental health issues through community activity.

NEWCASTLE CARNIVAL 2003
26th May, Newcastle under Lyme

Participants from projects including Berry Hill High School, Mitchell High School, Chesterton's Banjomanjo, MaDuLa, THADO joined the Planet Sound Community Arts team and Felix Gibbons to perform the most lively samba piece that the Newcastle Carnival has seen.

MAKE SOME NOISE SHOWCASE
BIRMINGHAM SYMPHONY HALL - Nov 2002

On Nov 17th 2002, the Youth Music Action Zone Make Some Noise held a showcase event at the Birmingham Symphony Hall. The aim of this event was to showcase all the work done over the initial phase of the action zone.
