The parade was joined by groups from James Brindley High School, Abbey Hill Special School and the Dreamscheme project many of whom were taking part in Carnival for the first time. The parade lasted around an hour and a half, and finished in Tontine Square, Hanley City Centre. A stage had been set up for the finale of the 2005 carnival project, and the bands "Closed Case" and "The Skalinskis" performed to the crowds. The Core batteria and front commission then took to the stage to perform the Carnival song one last time for the audiences in a special performance dedicated to the memory of the late Steven D Bourne.
