Access All Areas "Looked after Children recording"|
Feb 14th 2008
As part of the Access All Areas project, a group of young people who performed their original music, song and drama in front of hundreds at the Youth Achievement Awards Ceremony at the Kings Hall in November 2007, as well as being part of the Spectrums of Sound 2007 event at the Victoria Hall.
During the February half term, the group worked with Planet Sound to record one of their performance tracks.
The session took place at the Planet Sound premises, Mitchell Memorial Theatre, and the group began by doing various takes of the tune singing accapella.
The group then worked together in layering up vocal tracks until they were happy with the final recording.
The group also experienced an introduction to African drumming, and experimented with samples from instruments in the Planet Sound space.

Future activity is planned for the 26th March 2008, at an event the young people will co-ordinate and host themselves.
