ACCESS ALL AREAS - Y-O-T sessions, Stanley Head Aug 2006 As part of Access All Areas 2006, Planet Sound worked groups from the Y-O-T team on the and 26th and 31st Aug 2006, with participants attending a full day of workshops each time, with each group aiming to write material for use in a future performance. The participants also recorded their music and vocal work and learned to use music technology software and mixing skills. Full songs featuring the elements of rap and computer sequenced music were created by the end of each session, and the groups are expected to come together to perform at the Planet Sound Showcase in November 2006. You can see a gallery of images from the workshops by clicking here. A Further Access All Areas programme is planned for the October half term, with a group from the Racial Equality Council. Work is also planned for early 2007 for a group in Blurton to compose a samba with Bosco D'Olivera, and a group from Meir to work with Planet Sound Community Arts on a different original piece. The work will result in a CD featuring the work from all the groups, and everyone involved in the Access All Areas 2006 programme will recieve a copy.
